Daddy's Dodger

I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of Dusty's little Dodger... we have a MLB rivalry in our house... I am a big Braves fan and Dusty is a big Dodgers fan. We both like the Cardinals so that's some common ground. Dusty's sister, Lisa, likes the Yankees (who I despise!) and she bought Cayson a Yankees outfit which I have "let" him wear. So, back to the reason of this post, to show Cayson in his Dodgers outfit!!!

3 months old... already?

Cayson turned 3 months old on Saturday.... on one hand, I cannot believe that time has flown and he is already that old, but on the other hand it seems like he has been part of our lives forever! We are enjoying the little guy... he makes life so much fun! Here's the only picture I took on Saturday for his 3 month "birthday." :)

We took him to get his 3 month pictures taken this morning. He was such a good baby! He just grinned and smiled for me. The photographer kept saying, "I can't believe he is only 3 months old because they normally won't smile." He was amazed by our precious little boy.

I decided to try the video feature on my digital camera for the first time this morning. Cayson is usually very vocal in the mornings. He just talks up a storm and laughs like crazy. Of course when I got the camera out, he started being Mr. Serious. Here's my first attempt at a video. I do now know to turn the tv off, by the way. Sorry for the background noises. The video is posted in the post above... I haven't quite figured out how to post videos correctly.

Vacation! Vacation! Vacation! Yipee!!!

Okay, I'm on cloud 9 at the moment. We are going to take a family vacation! I didn't think we would get to with Cayson in the picture and all, but God worked and now we're going to Branson in September! I have never been to Branson - Dusty's been a couple of times. We are going to stay at what looks to be an awesome resort on Table Rock Lake. A lawnmower company that my dad handles is having a meeting there so we are getting good rates. My parents are also going so they'll be able to babysit some so Dusty & I can do a few things by ourselves. :) I am excited about the outlet shopping. I've heard that it is great! I'm saving my money now so I can shop. I'm totally pumped and can't wait. I want to start packing now! Here are a few pictures from the Chateau on the Lake in Branson. I had to include one of one of the pools... you know how important that is to me! The outdoor pool overlooks the lake.

More water fun!

I had to share a few pictures from Sunday's swim. Cayson wasn't too keen on getting his diaper wet though. He fussed when Dusty put his bottom half in, but he quickly got over it and hung out with his daddy in the shade.

Cayson, Mom, & I went shopping on Thurday in OKC. Cayson was very well behaved for spending the day being dragged from store to store. I got him some cute clothes. He's outgrown a lot of his summer stuff so I had to pick him up some things. Thankfully everyone was having great sales to get rid of their summer clothes. Of course I had to dress him up in some of his new outfits.

Cayson is going to be on TV!!!! One of the pictures of him and his cousin, Brayden, is supposed to be on News 9 Tuesday during the 10 p.m. newscast. It will show their picture and say of Elk City since my cousin sent in the picture... Be sure to catch our little "star."

Buddies and Cousins

Cayson and his cousin, Brayden, had their first playdate yesterday. We met at my parents' for a "swim." Brayden is 11 days older than Cayson so we are sure they'll be great buddies.

The boys' personalities sure showed yesterday. Cayson just layed back in the boat with his arm slung over the side. He just chilled and then Brayden just kick, kick, kicked and was bright eyed looking all around. Cayson ended up falling asleep and Brayden was kicking him in the stomach the whole time. It was so funny! I think Cayson is the laid back personality and Brayden has a hyper personality. Here are some pictures of the two boys.

I thought I'd share some cute pictures that I took this weekend of Dusty & Cayson. Dusty loves his little boy to pieces.

Cayson spent some time poolside this weekend with me. Today he actually took an hour nap laying on a towel by the pool! He really is a good baby. I put his feet and legs in the water and his facial expression never changes. He's pretty indifferent to it all. He does seem to like to float in his boat though. I think it relaxes him.

Thumb Sucking

Cayson is working on mastering the art of thumb sucking. He normally gets mad because he can't find his thumb and then I help him out. Then he has to flail his arms and out comes the thumb. It's a vicious cycle. He has started to get the hang of it. I guess I won't fight it and will let him suck it for awhile. So, here's a picture today of him sucking his thumb and sleeping. So cute!

Cayson's recent pictures

We took some more pictures of Cayson on the 4th of July. Rebecca just got them downloaded and up on her website. Once again she did a great job. Cayson was happy for the "skin" shots, but he was ready for his nap when I got him dressed in his 4th attire. For those pictures, he was posing his serious look. Patches, Patches, Patches All About Patches

I feel like I've been neglecting Patches, our first baby lately so I decided to devote a post just to her. She has been such a good kitty. She has adjusted well to having a new baby in the house. At first she was scared to death of him and wouldn't come close. Now she is accepting of him. She sleeps in his bedroom on the floor every night. When he cries, she either runs to where he is or she meows as to say, "Make him stop." So, here are some pictures of our "eldest child" at a ripe 15 years old.

A water-ful weekend

We had a sun and water filled weekend. We enjoyed Dusty's weekend off! Dusty and I went to Canton Lake on Saturday.Our friends, Scott, Lindey, JC, & Melissa were camping so we went out to hang out with them. Cayson stayed with his grandma so we could play without worrying about keeping him cool and out of the sun. Dusty and I enjoyed being with friends and going out on the pontoon boat. We went out and checked JC & Scott's jug lines - something I've never done. They had caught one fish. Then we went and anchored down and swam and cooled off. Dusty didn't even get sunburned! I got a little red on the nose and that's it. It was a great day of sun, fun, & friends! Here are a few pictures from the day...

Sunday we went to church and then ate lunch. After lunch, we took Cayson for his first official swim at Dad & Mom's. Isn't he cute in his swim trunks?

We put him in a raft to float around the pool... he enjoyed chilling in it.... he mostly concentrated on eating his fist and trying to find his thumb to suck.

Cayson's First Independence Day!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day! We had a fun couple of days celebrating the Fourth of July. Tuesday afternoon, Cayson and I went to Carnegie to visit Dusty's family that was in town for the holiday. We also celebrated our nieces', Maggie & Korbyn's, birthdays and Louise's birthday. Cayson got to be cuddled and spoiled by everyone. Here is Cayson with his big cousin, Maggie and being loved on by Papa.

I also swam with the kiddos while Nana & Papa watched Cayson. Here the kids are all waiting the okay to jump in.

Yesterday, the 4th, we spent a good part of the day at my parents'. We went over to swim early in the afternoon. Rebecca, Mom, & I soaked up the sun... it was wonderful after all of the rain and dreariness we've had. Cayson hung out with us some. He got to dip his feet in the pool - he was less than thrilled at first, but he got used to it. I love his face as I was putting him in. Mom carried him around in the pool some and he seemed to like it. He loves to be outside.

I wanted to go watch the fireworks at the park and take Cayson, but I wasn't sure how he would react and he was really sleepy. I ended up getting him to sleep and then going out to the park and watching the show from my car. Cayson slept right through everything. Dusty had to work both Tuesday & Wednesday evenings unfortunately.

Cayson hit a milestone last night! I'm so proud of him... he went 8.5 hours between feedings! I was still up several times sticking his pacifier in, but at least I didn't have to feed him. I actually woke him up at 7:30 this morning to feed because I was uncomfortable. Hopefully, he does it again tonight! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I am not sure what we are going to do... Dusty is off work both at the police department and the hardware store, so maybe we will do something fun.
