And so it ends

We closed the chapter on Cayson's t-ball career last Friday. He played his final game as he'll move on to coach pitch next year. It was bittersweet for me... it will be nice to have those two extra nights a week free but I also loved watching him play and enjoy the game.

He's had some majorly good hits the last few games... getting the ball up over the pitcher.

Dusty handed out the medals to all of the kids... our head coach was gone so Dusty took on the job.

The 2013 Red Sox T-ball team- Cayson was lucky to have four friends from church on his team this year.

Fishing Fun

Memorial Day weekend, we were able to meet Dusty's parents at the lake so Cayson could get a chance at fishing with Papa. He has been requesting a fishing trip and it worked out perfectly. Both kids had a blast and it turned out to be fairly quiet at the lake.

A nearby fisher caught a turtle and the kids thought it was the greatest thing. Taryn asked Dusty to snap a picture of her with the turtle. Love her pose.

Papa & Nana had a great climbing tree at their campsite and the kids were crazy about it. Cayson even chose to eat his lunch up in the tree.

I am attempting to get a little bit caught up on blogging... slowly!

T-Ball Season

Soccer season ended and was closely followed by t-ball season. We are in the midst of twice weekly games for the month of June. Cayson is loving t-ball! Dusty is an assistant coach which equals awesome bonding time for the boys!

The only snafu we have run into this season was that Cayson's name was misspelled on his shirt - it said "Carson." Thankfully, the t-shirt shop remedied the situation and he is back to "Cayson." 

The boys have some awesome cheering sisters... who occasionally sit still long enough to watch a few minutes of the game.

Spring Pictures

My sister was willing to take a few pictures of the kids in the nearby canola fields while they were blooming. Aren't the fields beautiful? They got even brighter and fuller as time went by but I wanted to make sure we got a few pictures before we went out of town for a few days.

These two- love each other to pieces, fight like crazy, miss each other when they are apart, irritate each other, and the list goes on. My prayer is that they will be the best of friends for life.

My sweet, sweet boy is six. I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by with this guy.

Cayson turns 6! A Cowboy Birthday Party

We celebrated Cayson turning 6 several weeks ago with a western themed birthday party fit for a cowboy! We had the perfect location for the party - my sister and brother-in-law's horse barn. Lucky for us, the Oklahoma weather was beautiful.

I didn't plan any activities besides the horse rides. I know how little boys just love running around playing with each other and that is exactly what they did! We were going to do a bon fire and let them roast their hot dogs but I decided it may be a little chaotic to keep everyone safe.

The menu consisted of hot dogs, baked beans, cowboy caviar, chips, s'mores bars, cupcakes and cake. The amazing cake was made by my mother-in-law. It was the centerpiece of the table!

I ordered the party supplies through Zulily for a great deal! They are made by Meri Meri. I completely forgot to put the cupcake toppers on the cupcakes after I put them out. That is one detail that keeps bothering me!

All in all, it was an awesome time! Beautiful weather with great friends and family!
