Fishing Fun

Memorial Day weekend, we were able to meet Dusty's parents at the lake so Cayson could get a chance at fishing with Papa. He has been requesting a fishing trip and it worked out perfectly. Both kids had a blast and it turned out to be fairly quiet at the lake.

A nearby fisher caught a turtle and the kids thought it was the greatest thing. Taryn asked Dusty to snap a picture of her with the turtle. Love her pose.

Papa & Nana had a great climbing tree at their campsite and the kids were crazy about it. Cayson even chose to eat his lunch up in the tree.

I am attempting to get a little bit caught up on blogging... slowly!

Thanksgiving Jarnagin Style

We had a family filled Thanksgiving day that started with the traditional Macy's Thanksgiving Parade watching.... which was a huge hit with the kids. They were enamored! Taryn waved at all the performers and attempted to imitate their dancing. It was the cutest thing... our little performer.

We headed to Carnegie for a Jarnagin feast with the whole clan.... all 27 of them (I think that's how many).

We were blessed with an extra gorgeous day so the kids were able to spend lots of time outside playing. They had the greatest time playing with their cousins!

Dusty and Cayson enjoyed a little football action... so fun.

Dusty and I went for a country run/walk mid afternoon and had a trio of goats join us. Seriously, the funniest thing. They crawled under their fence and ran behind us in single file. We ended up returning them back to their yard before heading back to the house. It was so funny... wish I had my camera or phone for pictures of it!

Christmas Day (finally blogged!)

We had a fun-filled Christmas Day as our own little family unit. The kids fully loved digging into their stockings and opening their gifts. Cayson was so grateful and kept telling us how thankful he was for his gifts. That totally makes it worth it! Taryn loved her new baby dolls and lugged them everywhere as you can see in the pictures. We ate our traditional monkey bread for breakfast after opening gifts.

It was awesome to head to church on Christmas Day to celebrate His birth! I loved it! Our church had a family service so Taryn was in with us and she actually slept through the majority of the service. We came home to an nontraditional meal of chili for lunch followed by naps!

We headed down to Dusty's parents' Christmas evening to celebrate with his side of the family. It was a big jolly time with loads of food and gifts!

Canna Festival Weekend!

We headed to Dusty’s hometown of Carnegie for their annual Canna Festival… there is a gorgeous Canna Farm nearby and they celebrate every year at the flower’s peak.

We went to the fair Friday night and dined on authentic Indian Tacos. YUM! It was amazing! Cayson enjoyed the rides – riding the train, fish and Ferris wheel (which was a 20+ minute ride!).

 

After the fair, he completely crashed in his special Cars bed. He loves this bed and looks forward to sleeping in it each time we stay with Nana & Papa!

After an amazing biscuits & gravy breakfast on Saturday, we headed to town for the parade.

After the parade, we stopped by the festival to browse… McLemore Farms had this trailer of gorgeous pumpkins and gourds. I can’t wait to make a trip to their place to pick some out!

It was a fun time in C-town! Cayson is already planning his next stay with Nana & Papa! :)

Guys Night Out

Dusty & Cayson went to a Redhawks baseball game Friday night with Papa and Uncle Greg. It was the perfect Guys Night Out!

 

Cayson was not a fan of Rowdy the Redhawk and made sure he kept an eye on him at all times so he wouldn’t get too close.  And – he kept calling him a parrot.

It was a night filled with lots of goodies and spoiling for Cayson!

I think they all had a fun night and made great memories! Now we are looking forward to the Rangers’ games in Dallas later this month!
