Fishing Fun

Memorial Day weekend, we were able to meet Dusty's parents at the lake so Cayson could get a chance at fishing with Papa. He has been requesting a fishing trip and it worked out perfectly. Both kids had a blast and it turned out to be fairly quiet at the lake.
Ready to fish

Papa's fishing buddy

A nearby fisher caught a turtle and the kids thought it was the greatest thing. Taryn asked Dusty to snap a picture of her with the turtle. Love her pose.

Papa & Nana had a great climbing tree at their campsite and the kids were crazy about it. Cayson even chose to eat his lunch up in the tree.

I am attempting to get a little bit caught up on blogging... slowly!

Spring Pictures

My sister was willing to take a few pictures of the kids in the nearby canola fields while they were blooming. Aren't the fields beautiful? They got even brighter and fuller as time went by but I wanted to make sure we got a few pictures before we went out of town for a few days.

These two- love each other to pieces, fight like crazy, miss each other when they are apart, irritate each other, and the list goes on. My prayer is that they will be the best of friends for life.

My sweet, sweet boy is six. I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by with this guy.

We took a few cousin pictures too... you know, because they are so adorable.

Snow? Again? In Western Oklahoma?

Unbelievably, we were the victims of a blizzard. A BLIZZARD in western Oklahoma. Nearly, unheard of around here. It began Sunday night with 2" of rain followed by 6-8" of blowing, wet snow on Monday. Our electricity was off and on Monday afternoon but we really only had a two hour span of no electricity at all. We were the lucky ones as there are some who are still without or are just now getting their power.

We were all eager to enjoy the heavy snow Tuesday morning and headed out for some playtime! Many snowballs flew and Taryn had a hard time walking in the snow since it was so deep. She and Cayson both managed to lose a boot in the deep snow.

Later in the afternoon, Dusty came home from work early so we could do some snowman building and sledding. Dusty loves to sled just about as much as the kids! I must admit that I love it too!

And this is the best picture that I got with our snowman. Ha ha. My tripod didn't work out so well this time. I have about 6 shots that are cutting Dusty and I out of the picture! I was balancing the tripod on the top of some snow in Dusty's pickup.

Sledding time!

Crash!

Here's one of Dusty's nice falls. I had one too that he caught on camera but I will just save you from having to view it. :) I'm nice like that.

My dad made the kids a Mickey Mouse snowman which they thought was pretty awesome.

So, we pretty much loved the snow and are so grateful that God sent us moisture! Dusty had to drive back and forth to work in the blizzard like conditions but thankfully, God protected him through it.

Princess Party Galore!

A belated post on Taryn's princess party bash.... We had a ball and I loved using lots and lots of pink! I started with the princess party supplies by Meri Meri which I bought at a nice discount from Zulily. After that, I just added lots of pink!

Aren't these little girls darling? Taryn had such a blast playing with all of her friends!

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law made the awesome cake! Taryn picked this one from my Pinboard of cake possibilities. I made the "skirt" to go around the cake stand.

There was an abundance of pink sweets for all with strawberry cupcakes, heart shaped marshmallows, taffy, princess cookies, suckers, malt balls, M&Ms and cake! Whew!

The proud 3 year old princess - she was excited to wear the birthday ribbon I made.

It is hard to believe our princess is 3 already! It is crazy how time flies.

Bubble Bath Girl

Dusty is a super awesome dad and husband and usually bathes the kids for me while I clean up the kitchen. It is a big help for me come the end of the day. I volunteered to give Taryn a bubble bath the other night and decided I should snap a few pictures as I feel like I've failed a bit in the picture taking area.

One thing about bath time - it's 98% of the time a happy time! Happiness in playing in the water and happiness in getting clean.

Now, the after effects of a bath - crazy, wild kids. Do your kids act like wild ban-gees after baths? Mine sure do but it is quite entertaining. Ha ha.
