Adventures in family vacation: Part 4

I skipped to the end of vacation! We hit another baseball game on our way back to OK – stopping off in Dallas for the guys to take in a Red Sox/Texas game in some scorching heat!

We stopped off in Norman (home of the Sooners!) to meet some dear friends at a spray park. It was a great way to break up the drive and exhaust our children.

Taryn was quite the fan of the splash pad! She loved sitting at this fountain and playing away in the refreshing water!

Of course I didn’t get a group shot of the kids… totally should have done that! You can see the last time we went to the splash pad with the twins here.

Adventures in family vacation Part 3

Sea World, lots of outfit changes & the Alamo made up this particular day in San Antonio.

Cayson LOVES maps and was always happy to “lead” the way. I just noticed Taryn’s squalling face… too funny.

Adventures in family vacationing Part 2

Day 2 started with an exciting fire alarm and a walk down 18 flights of stairs with our kids, bags & camera. That was a blast – not. Thankfully, it was a false alarm and my legs got an extra workout.

Breakfast at Anchiote in our hotel was a definite hit! They had an amazing breakfast buffet spread that was enjoyed by all.

A picture of one of my moving targets… this just cracks me up. He was trying to dodge the camera.

We explored the Riverwalk… and the mall. :)

A swim was in order after naps! Cayson was not happy that he had to share the hotel pool with “other people.” Can you say, spoiled?

He did get in and had a blast! He even made a few new friends – girls, of course!

Taryn LOVED the infinity ledge of the pool. It was perfect for her to sit on and splash away!

We finished off the day with a walk along the Riverwalk to eat dinner.

Adventures in family vacationing Part 1

  2010 Family Vacation 001

The first day was filled with several detours and stop-offs such as Turner Falls and a few outfit changes for Miss T.

The kids were very grateful to get to the hotel after the driving…. and Cayson was even more excited about the pizza we ordered in!

Then, off to the baseball game we went…. in the sweltering heat. Miss T rode along with Mommy.

A way cool (air condtioned) trolley was our transportation to the ballpark.

We sweated….

…and sweated some more…

But it was an experience we’ll always remember! The kids’ first major league baseball game in the 100 degree heat.
