*Almost* Summertime Fun!

While we were playing outside last Saturday, Dusty pulled out the garden hose for something and before I knew it, both kids were completely soaked. They had so much fun playing with a simple garden hose!

Our new driveway is getting lots of use by these two! They have been zipping up and down it in pure glee! It's the simple things in life that are so memorable!

I really love how these two are growing up to be the best of friends. I pray it continues through adulthood!

Final Day of CDO

Thursday marked the kids' last CDO (Children's Day Out) day of the year. It was a bittersweet day for all of us. They love going to CDO every Monday and Thursday. They have wonderful friends and fantastic teachers who love them to pieces. I love their friends and teachers and have been grateful for the time they have had at CDO.

Here is a comparison from the first day of CDO back in September! Boy, have they grown! Taryn's class measures and weighs them the first day and last week to see how they grow through the year. She grew 3" and gained 3 pounds.

Taryn loves her Ms. Sue and Ms. Midge! She wants to see them every time we go to church. Thankfully, Ms. Sue is her Sunday School teacher so she gets to see her every Sunday. We usually have to try to see Ms. Midge by the exit before we head home too.

Cayson had amazingly creative teachers this year. They taught the kids so many fun things and did loads of hands on learning. He loved going to class each day! Ms. Janie (right) is a longtime family friend and we love Ms. Rhonda!

I nearly bawled picking the kids up... I was so teary about it being their last day. They just have so much fun at CDO! This will be their last year to attend too so that makes it even more bittersweet. I am thankful for this program at our church!

A Sweet Night at the Ballpark

Last Monday, we got the privilege to attend an OKC Redhawks baseball game courtesy of OHSO. Dusty's police department won a challenge and the reward was a suite at the Redhawks game. Pretty fun! We're not usually that fancy or high-class, ha ha.

We had to run by the mall for a few things while we were in the city and happened to drive by a Smashburger. We decided to give it a try for dinner. We were first timers... I must say, it was delicious! We got burgers for our maiden voyage but I really want to try the chicken next time.

We walked along the Bricktown Canal so the kids could see the ducks before heading to the ballpark. The kids loved the water and ducks.

The suite was... well, sweet! It's nice because the kids could run around a little bit instead of being confined to a single seat. The weather was perfect so we did spend the majority of the time out in the seats.

Taryn kept talking about the "chickens" aka Redhawks. She waved wildly at them from the seats. Ruby the Redhawk made a visit to our suite... while Cayson hid in fear, Taryn ran up to her. She got a little intimidated so I held her for a picture.

Dusty and Justin had to get a picture with Ruby too!

The game was a fun experience.... we left in the 7th so the kids could get some sleep. The OKC Thunder was playing at the same time downtown so the ballpark was pretty deserted. Everyone was taking in the play off came! Go Thunder! Beat LA!

My 5th Mother's Day

I must say that this Mother's Day was amazing - even if I was busy all day long cleaning up messes and disasters - doing what I love! We started the day off with church, of course and then enjoyed a laid back lunch at home.

This is Taryn's "cheese" face. Yay... not. And for some reason, Dusty took it off center. Hmmm?

Dusty completely surprised me with this hand stamped necklace by Charms of Faith. It says "My heart belongs to a police officer" and it has his badge number on the heart, a blue jewel and a handcuff charm. I love it and haven't taken it off since Sunday!

The kids also got me an underwater camera for the summer. Yay! I was really spoiled seeing as I ordered my own present a month ago....

Dusty worked overnight Saturday and had to be back to work at 2 pm Sunday so he was away most of the day. :( I did manage to fit in a little sunning during naptime and then we delivered some hydrangeas to Grandma and walked to the police department to visit our fav officer.

All in all, it was an awesome day! I am grateful to have so many wonderful mothers in my life! My mom has been an amazing example of how to live as a godly wife and mother. I am thankful to have a fantastic mother-in-law and superb grandmothers. I'm also extremely grateful to have so many dear friends who are exceptional mothers.

Springtime Love!

Life in the Jarnagin household has been busy - thus the lack of posts. I think blogging and crafting have taken a backseat to life in general. We've enjoyed the spring like temperatures but we're not too fond of the tornado season. We have been working on the flower beds and garden which seem to be taking a beating from some invisible mean-hearted insects. Cayson and I planted some seeds indoors and some of them are thriving... some, not so much. We currently have 8 jalapeno seedlings so it could be a spicy summer! :)

We are gearing up for a certain little boy's upcoming birthday! He is going to be a WHOLE HAND! Wow! This is quite the milestone. His birthday party will happen... eventually. Between conventions, scheduled surgeries, etc, we are waiting to find a good date for a big party. His chosen theme this year is police so it should be fun!

I'm happy to report that Taryn is potty trained! She has been doing excellent. She sleeps in a pull up because she hasn't quite mastered staying dry at night. Today, she lost her very last pacifier so we were forced to start the "break Taryn of the pacifier" training. She is quickly leaving her babyhood behind and it saddens me. We packed up the changing pad - it's never been packed up- and we're talking about getting bunk beds and packing up the crib. The crib has been up since Cayson was born. :(

Spring has Sprung!

We have been blessed with some unseasonably warm weather lately. It's been a joy when we have gotten to enjoy it. We played at the church's playground on Monday after Children's Day Out. It was fun to let the kids run around in the gorgeous weather... not to mention, we had the playground to ourselves.
