Tuesday 10

1. One of Taryn's masterpieces on the chalkboard - a picture of Mommy (on the left) and Nana. I must say that I'm impressed with her ability to draw people. She's more advanced in that area than Cayson was. Might be a girl thing.

2. I had to run into a local shop store this week to pick up a few things. Taryn found the new kids seating area and loved it! She's staring intently at the tv in this pic as it plays cartoons on loop. Yay!

3. Silly faces on a Saturday.

4. Cupcakes on a Saturday... where Taryn proceeded to make all kinds of crazy faces when I asked to take her picture.

5. Sunday morning pre-church. Taryn wrangled her daddy into listening to her "read" along with all her babies.

6. Cayson kills me with his hate for chicken. I mean, seriously. Chicken is awesome. He does not agree. BUT, he loves lobster salad sandwiches at Quizno's. Go figure.

7. Dusty and I did a tandem sled... let's just say it was not a graceful move but a pretty funny one.

8. I made these for our snow day breakfast. They were divine! Yum-o!

9. Both kids love the snow but Cayson especially loves it. Sledding is definitely one of his favorite snow activities. He was so sad when we finally dragged him away on our snow fun day.

10. Taryn was telling Cayson how she was going to marry him and he kept telling her "No, you can't marry me. Right, Mom?"
Me: "That's right, Taryn. You can't marry your brother."
Cayson (very enthusiastically): "Yes, because God says so and besides, we'd spend too much time together anyway."

Ha ha.

Tuesday 10 - a bit of catching up

I just downloaded several weeks worth of phone pictures to the computer so I thought it would be a good time to for a phone dump in the form of a Tuesday 10 post. It's been a bit of a trying weekend as I decided to do a processed sugar and carb fast. I have had such an addiction to the two and constantly crave carbs and sugar. It was rough but I can definitely feel the change in my cravings. I ate lots of cheese, oranges, and meat.

1. One Saturday while Dusty was gone, I decided to paint our coffee table with some CeCe chalk paint. It was so easy to use! I love, love, love it. I've since waxed it and put the hardware back on. I love the change! I will post a picture of the finished project soon.

2. We've had the privilege to keep this sweet little guy twice in the last week- my dear nephew, Brady.

Cayson made sure he had plenty of stuffed animals to entertain him.

4. We are in the midst of a blizzard... so unusual for western Oklahoma! The snow is crazy heavy and deep. Hopefully, we can get out in it tomorrow to play and take more pictures. I love snow pictures!

5. During our snow day, we busted out some major craft projects that we had received as gifts. Taryn painted her ceramic princesses and made some butterfly wings.

6. Seriously, this girl, I die. Walking down the street holding my Cinderella's hand. Love.

7. You might have noticed that Taryn likes to dress up... just a little bit. Whether it be loads of accessories, a towel or blanket tied as a super hero cape, a paper bag made into a "robot" costume- there's always something.

8. Here are my two little Valentines on Valentine's Day. We went out for lunch with my dad for some Valentine's Day pizza.

9. On Saturday, Dusty and I got to go to the gym together. This never happens since one of us has to be with the kids... you know, since they aren't allowed to be home alone yet. We had a little bit of time so we seized the moment and ran to the gym. I was cracking up because I turned the tv to Step Mom (the movie) which was followed by Steel Magnolias. I think Dusty was really digging Steel Magnolias.

10. Here's a little peek into some of our homeschooling.... this Ikea chalkboard has been handy for school! If you'll notice, my sweet tea is usually nearby while we work on school.

11. A bonus one, I guess... I've done a few fashion Instagrams as of late. Mainly, I'm trying to plan outfits for NYC... it's so hard! Trying to figure out warm outfits that will be comfortable. AND, what shoes should I wear? I don't know!

I jumped on the bandwagon with floral leggings and I must say these are so comfortable. They're my new sweatpants. Ha ha. I found these at Target for only $12. Cheap and so comfy!

Tuesday 10- The First of 2013!

1. Here are a few phone pictures of Taryn's actual birthday... her peppermint ice cream from lunch at the "ice cream place" aka Braums. She wore her crown she made in Sunday School for our trip to the city while flipping through her new Gigi book.

Phone pics of the birthday ice skating adventure!

2. Taryn has just a little bit of personality... I know it's hard to tell!

 3. Cold weather means my cooped up kids are going stir crazy. Inside football games have ensued. Taryn has become VERY good at tackling Cayson. Like, seriously good.

 4. I made a few onesies for a dear friend's baby shower. The tie onesie was hung on a banner we made for the shower.

I can't believe I didn't take any pictures at the shower. It was a cute shower and the banner turned out adorable... here's a pic of the banner in Colt's room. We hung the tie onesie in the middle for the shower.

5. I have been working on a certain princess' sweet birthday party. It has been fun to plan - expect lots of pink!

6. We made a trip to Dusty's parents' to celebrate some birthdays. Snapped this pic of Dusty being a goober like usual.

7. I started making this homemade hot chocolate recipe. Wowza... life changing stuff right there.

Cayson's not complaining either... that is one happy boy with his whipped cream topped hot chocolate.

8. We finally had some warmer weather when we were at home and Cayson was able to play on his EZ Roller and pogo stick. He loves them both!

9. I got to spend time in this "Radiology Suite" today. Ha ha. I think it's funny that it has a fancy schmancy name. Got some x-rays done on my back to see what all is going in there. I have been having some terribly back issues  where by the end of the day I can barely move. Hopefully, a little physical therapy will be the answer to get me back to where I need to be.

10. I guess it is fitting that #10 is about our ten year anniversary. We celebrate 10 years of married life mid-March. We just booked a little outing to NYC to celebrate. I'm so over-the-moon excited. I have always wanted to explore NYC! Please, please, please send me your restaurant and tourist recs... I would love to hear about them!!!

Tuesday 10- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I'm finally doing a Tuesday 10 post! I think, at least. Here's a little phone dump and recap of the going on's of our little family!
1. A little Christmas crafting has been going on around here. I've kept it fairly light and easy this year to keep my stress levels down. I did make a fun set of four Christmas dishtowels for a friend to use at teacher's gifts. I also made my go-to gift for the kids' Sunday School teachers- Bath & Body Works soap with a tissue pocket. I also did a quick hostess gift for our Sunday School's progressive dinner - snowmen ornaments bagged up. A side-note, I found that Dollar Tree carries the paper shred I use in these bags. Total score as it goes a long way!

2. I love this little corner of our house. I have fallen back in love with the multi-colored large bulb Christmas lights! Dusty strung those on our holly bushes and they we set out my garage sale find sled with lights. Love!

3. I know I mentioned it but it is significant to mention again! We have a new nephew/cousin! Both mom and baby are now happily at home! Yay!

4. My dad (who has just recently started texting) sent me this picture. Ha ha. I don't let Cayson do this but when he's with Granddaddy, you never know what will happen!

 5. Dusty and I attended our Sunday School's progressive dinner Christmas party last weekend. We usually don't get to attend due to Dusty's work schedule. I was elated to get to attend this year! Socializing with adults is a treat for me. We had a blast but failed to take a single pic. I meant to snap one of us and forgot. Thanks to Dusty's dad for keeping the kids for us! They're still talking about their Papa time.

6. Coolness happening in our house!

7. I'm slowly working on Christmas cards. They "may" all get mailed before Christmas... we shall see. I hate going to the post office but finally made myself go buy Christmas stamps expecting them to be out. Luckily, they had all three. I went with one of each.

8. Cayson helped me make my grandma's butterscotch candy yesterday. It's pretty much a no-bake butterscotch cookie. Totally delicious and brought back memories of Christmas. They were one of her signature candies to  make every year.

9. We are hosting Christmas for my family on Christmas Day. I just realized I should put together a menu and shopping list! And figure out where everyone will sit! It's a small group of 11 but it will be tons of fun! There may even be SNOW in the forecast! This girl is overjoyed! Every year, the kids and I pray for a white Christmas.

10. Have a great week, ya'll! We'll be busy prepping for Christmas like everyone else. First up, today we are going to attempt to ice skate as a family. Wish us luck and no broken bones!
