The Cutest Pumpkin in the World!

Nana & PaPa bought Cayson a cute little Halloween outfit. It has little jack-o-lanterns on the feet and he was quite fascinated with them! Here are a few pictures and a video of our sweet jack-o-lantern.

Happy Birthday to My Favorite Guy!!!!!

Dusty celebrated another birthday this week. Happy Birthday, Dusty!!!! His actual birthday was yesterday but we are giving him a birthday week!
We celebrated his birthday Tuesday night with my family. We ate dinner at Casa Soto and then went to my parents' for homemade chocolate pie (Mom & I made them - she taught me how to!), hot fudge & ice cream, and Italian hot chocolate (compliments of Rebecca).

Dusty had to work on his birthday. :( He got off at 6 a.m. and then had to work at the hardware store 11:30-12:30, had a mandatory insurance meeting at 1:30, and then had to mow a couple of lawns and go back to work at the PD at 10 pm. We were able to spend some time together We got him some Dodgers stuff, a gift certificate to a shooting range, We are Marshall DVD, & some photos that I had taken of Cayson. Here are the photos that I took of him to surprise his Daddy. I had them printed in sepia.
Here is a slideshow of Dusty's birthday:

Yuck... spider!

So, I had an horrific event last night. Dusty had gone to work and I went to the bathroom. I noticed a gigantic spider on the wall by the door - my only means of escape. It was so HUGE. I am seriously afraid of spiders for those who don't know... anyway, I call Dusty and he answers and I squeal, "Big Spider! Eek!" My loving husband tells me he will be right there. Well, instinct would be for me to run from the bathroom as fast as I can and go to the farthest end of the house so the spider doesn't attack me. I have done this before and then when Dusty comes to euthanize the spider, it is nowhere to be found. So I stayed in the bathroom to track it's progress. I held a bottle of bug spray (that I always keep in the bathroom cabinet) aimed at the spider in case it trapped me. My wonderful husband opened our front door and I rushed out of the bathroom telling him where it was in a very high pitch voice. I am telling you I was near a panic attack. Dusty had to remind me to breath! Silly, I know, but me nonetheless.

Chocolate-holics Annonymous

I got an e-mail regarding chocolate... everyone probably knows I have an obsession for chocolate... it's hereditary... I inherited the craze from my mom and her family. For example, to celebrate Dusty's birthday tonight we had chocolate pie, hot fudge (& a little bit of ice cream under the fudge) and Italian hot chocolate. So, just a little bit of chocolate! :) Oh, and my lovely sister brought us real Swiss chocolate from Switzerland - devine!

I love CHOCOLATE!!!! Anyway, here's the e-mail:

THE RULES OF CHOCOLATE
If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit,so eat as many as you want.

The problem: How to get 2 lbs. of chocolate home from the store in a hot car.

The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.
Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite and you'll eat less.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?
If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge.Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?

Money talks. Chocolate sings.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

Q. Why is there no such organization for Chocoholics Anonymous? A. Because no one wants to quit.

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. ~ author unknown ~

And so another weekend has passed...

We had a fairly uneventful weekend...
highlights of the weekend: eating Pizza Hut buffet on Friday with Dusty, Cayson, & Greg J, SWOSU football, getting my house uncluttered and clean, eating Sunday lunch with the Kitchens + clan

Downsides: it's pretty much over :(

Our plans for the week so far:
I am working tomorrow afternoon and Tuesday morning at State Farm. I was able to schedule it around Dusty's store schedule so he can be home with Cayson. Tomorrow will be busy since I will have to get the store's payroll done in the morning before I go to work. I enjoy working occasionally at State Farm... it's fun to see the people who I miss!

We are also celebrating Dusty's birthday on Tuesday night with my family (his birthday is Wednesday). We're eating at Casa Soto and then eating dessert of homemade chocolate pie which my mom is going to teach me to make!

Here are a few pictures from the football game

Don't you like Dusty in this one? It was a "family" picture!

Yay! Yay! Rebecca is home!!!

Just a note that my sister, Rebecca, is back from her 17 day traipse through Europe. I am so happy she made it home safely and that she had a great time. She got me some rockin' jewelry from Paris & Venice! Thanks Sis! I can't wait to see all of her pictures!

My "Baby" Cousin's Not a Baby Anymore!

My baby cousin, Ashley, is turning 17 this week. We celebrated her birthday last night. I guess she's not a baby anymore! I can't believe she's driving, dating, and so grown up! She is adorable to boot! Anyway, Happy Birthday Ashley! Here are a few pictures from last night.

Great State Fair of Oklahoma

Dusty & I decided to venture to the Centennial Oklahoma State Fair on Sunday. We had never gone before together... I think it's been 5+ years since I've been. We might wait another 5 year before we go again.

We decided to leave Cayson with my parents which was a very good decision - it was so hot and it would have been hard to maneuver the stroller through the crowds. I mostly wanted to check out some of the exhibits. One of my dear friends had entered some of her photos and a couple won 1st place! We found her photos and they were all amazing. I love to look through the pictures... there were so many interesting and fascinating pictures and we all know how I LOVE pictures!!! My other favorite thing were the cakes that were entered. I took pictures of a couple of them... one is a diaper bag and the other is a Happy Birthday Oklahoma cake. They were pretty amazing.
It was a hot day - we aren't used to this heat after being in the Ozarks where the weather was perfect! Instead of eating fair food, we opted to eat in the air conditioning and went to the Texas Roadhouse. It was wonderful! And we were so ready to stop sweltering in the sun.

I wish I could do this!

Cayson fell asleep the other day folded over like a taco! He was resting his body on his legs & feet... you can kind of see his toes peeking out. I sure wish I could do this!!! I thought it was cute... especially holding his paci while sucking his thumb!

P.S.

I forgot to mention that I got to do some quality shopping while in Branson... can't leave that out!!! We spent a good part of Tuesday at the Tanger Outlets and we went to Branson Landing Wednesday afternoon. I found some bargains at Fossil, The Children's Place, Gymboree, Mikasa, & Coach to name a few... :)

1st Family Vacation

We got back last night from our vacation to Branson. We had a great time and were definitely not ready to come home! Now I have piles of laundry to do and a house to clean. Back to the real world.

We left for Branson on Monday morning around 9ish. We had an uneventful drive there. It rained pretty much the whole way. Cayson was a great traveler. He just played the whole time and took cat naps.
Our hotel was fabulous! I highly recommend it if you are visiting the area. We were supposed to have the basic king room and were upgraded to a Chateau King which was a larger room with a sitting area and it overlooked the pool & Table Rock Lake. It was a gorgeous view and a fabulous room. Cayson loved the big bed. He would just lay on it and play and sprawl out. I think he wants a king size bed for Christmas!
We spent time relaxing, eating, and enjoying some of what Branson has to offer. We went to the Branson Belle Showboat Tuesday night. It was fun though Cayson didn't care for the loud show. He was asleep and then woke up fussy because of all the noise. Dad sat with him outside the dining room and put him to sleep. Dusty & I enjoyed the show. They had a ventriloquist that talked through his dogs. It was pretty funny. We also went to Silver Dollar City on Thursday. It entails a lot of walking up and down hills! Dusty & I enjoyed the roller coasters and the BIG swing! It was funny because most of the people visiting this time of year are senior citizens. Of course they don't ride the rides, so we got to walk on all the rides with no waiting! That was so nice. Mom & Dad would keep Cayson while we rode the rides. We were all exhausted after all the walking at Silver Dollar City. We were sad to come home yesterday. I would have loved to stay a couple more days, but we had commitments here. I didn't want to overwhelm you with all my vacation pictures. You can look at more of them at http://swosu.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2020592&id=177803789.

We're visiting MO!

Just a short note to let everyone know we made it to Branson. We had an easy trip here. Cayson was a darling and was super good - better than when we're at home! We drove through rain the whole time so that was stressful for Dusty. The resort is super awesome. Our room is HUGE and gorgeous!
We went and ate at Shorty Small's tonight with my parents. It was okay... our waiter was awful though!
Talk to everyone soon!

Packing, packing, packing

Just a quick note to say I've been busy packing and getting ready for our vacation. It's a little harder when I have to pack for a 4 month old. We bought new luggage last year for Hawaii and it's not big enough now that we've added a family member! We are leaving tomorrow morning and will be get back sometime on Friday. I would have liked to stay an extra day, but we have a wedding on Saturday afternoon.

If I get a chance, I might post a picture of all our luggage! It's a good thing we got the extended length Trailblazer!

Hope everyone has a good week!

4 Month Shots - Hooray!

Okay, maybe Cayson didn't exactly think or say "Hooray!" when he got his shots, but it was pretty close. He was so good. He didn't cry at all. After the first one, he puckered his face like he was going to cry, but then he was fine. He did an amazing job. I think he is a little sore because he's been a bit fussy this afternoon. The nurse weighed him and he weighed 16 lb, 6 oz.

Look at me!

Cayson has really changed and developed in the last week or so. Like I've mentioned before, he has started rolling over from his back. He pretty much does this the moment I lay him down on his back. The bad part is he uses this to fight sleep. When I lay him in his crib, he rolls over and holds his head up as high as he can so he won't go to sleep. He also gets mad because he rolls over and tries so hard to crawl, but can't get anywhere. Here are a few recent pictures and a short video:

Birthday Blowout!!!!!

Yesterday was the September Birthday Blowout at the Jarnagins. In other words, we celebrated the September birthdays in true Jarnagin fashion - lots of people, food, gifts, & fun!!! The honorees were - Jayce (turning 8), Kaci (turning 3), Dusty (turning 29), & Greg J (turning ???). There was a houseful of people. I think I counted 10 kids (all under the age of 8!) and 15 adults. We had a great time though it was chaotic at times to say the least.

Cayson awed everyone with his rolling over technique though he was quite shy about it. He would just keep faking everyone out like he was going to roll over and then not do it. When we are at home, I can't keep him on his back. He just automatically rolls over, but when he's in front of an audience, he has to be shy. He did end up rolling over for everyone to see.

Cayson also got spoiled by everyone. His cousins couldn't wait to hold him when we got there. While little Kaci was holding him, she asked her mom if they could take him home. So far, his cousins adore him. They are very sweet to him.

Here are some of my photos from the fun day:
