More fun pictures from today

Here are a few more pictures from our Saturday. Cayson had such a fun day today. Kourtney Bridges played with him while I helped with the pool this morning. She really spoiled Cayson and he ate it up. Then he got to play with Rylan. He kept giving Rylan hugs all day today - he thinks she is a real super-star.

Kourtney & Cayson

Rylan & Cayson

I took Cayson out to play in the swimming pool while it was filling up. It was perfect for him to run and crawl around and have a blast.

Here's Cayson bustin' a sag

I held the camera out to take a picture and Cayson posed by wrapping his arms around my neck and putting his check to mine. How adorable is this boy?

Great friends & family = swimming pool!!!!

Thanks to all our great friends and family for helping get our pool up!!! It was so much easier with all the extra hands. We are grateful to have such amazing friends who are willing to help out. Here are pictures from the two days of pool installation. As I type, our pool is slowly filling up with water. Now we just need a deck and we'll be set to swim!!!!!!

A few borrowed recipes

I found this delicious version of new potatoes on The Pioneer Woman's site and tried them last week. They are so good and a fun twist on the usual new potatoes. Crash Hot Potatoes
I tried this version of green beans Tuesday night and they turned out good. Dusty said they tasted much better than canned green beans. Guess that's good??? Fresh Green Beans One Way

Meet our little friend

Dusty found this cute little guy in our yard when he was mowing. Cayson wasn't too sure what to think about him.

The cool refreshing water

We got to spend some pool side time this weekend... we went for a swim at my parents' on Saturday. Cayson loves to splash from outside the pool. I put him in his little car floaty and he was content for a little while.. then he wanted out - and down. Like he wanted me to put him down in the pool. Silly boy.

Sunday we splished and splashed in Cayson's pool. He stayed in the pool for the longest time ever. He just had a blast. It may be because he didn't get to play in it all week since I've been working. He still loves to drink from the water hose... he was kind enough to share with Daddy. Had to stop playing to suck the thumb.... We made a quick trip to Foss to pick up Greg's (Dusty's brother) pickup. I snapped a few pictures of Cayson on the way... he was making faces at me. Oh, since we had to drive by Clinton, we got to stop at the Dairy Queen there for dinner - totally the best ever Dairy Queen in the country. We hope everyone had a good weekend! I am back to work this week at State Farm. Friday should be my last day for awhile at least.

Hugs, kisses, and haircuts

Cayson learned how to hug last week... it was kind of random. I was sitting on the floor and he walked up to me and wrapped his sweet arms around me and laid his head on me. It was so sweet. So this is his new thing and you never know when he's going to give out the hugs. I did capture him giving Dusty hugs yesterday morning.

He has also learned how to blow kisses. It never ceases to amaze me the things he picks up and figures out without much teaching. Last night, when I laid him down for bed I told him I loved him and he blew me a kiss. Oh, it melted my heart.

We took Cayson to get a "trim" yesterday morning... I must admit I am sad his beautiful hair is gone. The "trim" took off more hair than I wanted. Cayson did very good for the barber... they gave him a sucker (which he's never had before). At first, he didn't want me to put the sucker in his mouth but after he got a taste, he loved it. I wish I could have gotten a picture of him sitting up in the barber chair with his sucker. He was such a big boy!

Here's the before

And the after...
See! Too short.

Puppies!!!

We took Cayson over to Ashly & Tanner's Friday evening to see their basset hound puppies... well, they only have 2 left and they are both sold. They are the cutest puppies ever!

Cayson decided to sit on one of the puppies

On a funny note, one of their neighbor boys came over to see the puppies too. Cayson, being the sweetie that he is, went right up to the little boy and hugged him. Cayson was actually more fascinated with the little boy than the puppies!

And here are the "kids" all climbing into trouble. Isn't this funny??? All of them climbing into the flower bed.
