Prayers Needed!!!!

We are set to leave for beautiful Florida on Wednesday..... except it looks like Tropical Storm Hanna will likely be a hurricane baring down on Florida soon after our arrival. Forecasts are pretty iffy right now because there are a lot of factors and they say they won't know for sure until Tuesday. Ah! The day before we leave!

So, we are trying to decide what to do... the plan was to fly into Ft. Lauderdale, drive to Orlando to stay for a couple of days and do Sea World, then drive back to Hollywood Beach for the rest of our stay. It looks like the "hurricane" is going to hit right around the beach right when we are supposed to go. We are trying to decide if we should try to extend our stay in Orlando and cancel the beach hotel. Please pray that God will cause Hanna to dissipate and not do any damage. Also, pray for my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Randy as they are supposed to be on a cruise heading out of TX tonight... I don't know how Gustav is going to affect that.

It's FOOTBALL season!!!!

A politician in the making

Apparently Cayson is working on his people skills. He thinks he must wave at every vehicle that drives by our house. Anyone have a good campaign slogan?

100% Boy

Cayson loves rocks! Today he even ate some gravel... he's 100% all boy.

Happy Birthdays to our family!

I am a VERY bad blogger!!!!!!!

I want to wish Dad and Rebecca happy belated birthdays!!!! They are so wonderful and mean a lot to us! I guess I can wish you both "Happy birthday month!" Right?

I also want to mention that my grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary last week! Isn't that amazing!!!!

Invisible Cayson

15 Months....

I took Cayson for his 15 month check-up today. He weighed in at 25.7 lbs and was 32" tall. He's in the 50 percentile on weight and 75 on height. He also had to have blood drawn at the lab and it was so terrible. He bawled and it was all I could do not to cry too.

Mexican Lasagna... Yum, Yum, Yum!!!!

I made this tonight and it was soooooo delicious. Dusty & I both loved it! I omitted the corn because... well, because it's me, Sarah, the one who doesn't like vegetables. I accidentally left out the black beans too. Oops. I added some fresh jalapenos from my garden for some extra kick.

I also made my very first batch of salsa on Saturday. I think it turned out decent and I'll share that recipe later.

Hydro Fair Round 2

Here are my pictures from Friday night's fair fun. We met the Smiths at the fair and Cayson had soooo much fun. He had a blast!
Here we are on the fire truck...

Cayson loves Rylan!
Airplane time!

The guys tossing washers... the didn't win anything :(

I tried to take a picture of Cayson, Lindey, & Rylan, but Cayson had other plans...
He wanted to hug Rylan
My two favorite guys

He loved the carousel. He kept jumping up and down like he was riding a real horse.

Cayson with Lindey and his balloon.

It was a great time! The weather was perfect and Cayson really enjoyed everything. One of his favorite things was the duck pond... he loves ducks so he thought that was great. It's all about the simple things.

Our little pilot!

Cayson loved the airplanes at the Hydro Fair. He was such a cutie on them!

Hydro Fair Round 1

Cayson and I went to the Hydro Fair on Thursday night with some friends from church. He wasn't feeling real great so he didn't fully enjoy everything... as in, he started crying in the middle of the car ride and he wouldn't ride the carousel horse- we had to sit on the bench. It was fun and the weather was nice - storms were brewing but we only got some sprinkles and it was nice and cool.
Cayson & Kyla

Riding the planes... he wasn't sure what to think
This is the vintage version
Here's the boost version

Riding the car with Andrea and Hudson... everything's good here
But not so good here... he eventually started sucking his thumb and was fine. Everyone watching the ride was laughing at him because he was just bawling. It was pitiful. It's hard to see in this pic... should have zoomed in.
He was sooo tired - maybe because he didn't nap in Lawton?

Here we are on the carousel

A little look at one of my favorite annual events!

Lawton

Cayson and I spent a couple days in the greater Lawton area. Cayson did exceptionally well on the drive to and from. On the way into Lawton, we stopped at the lake to stretch our legs.

We mostly shopped and ate out. Nothing too exciting. As you could see from the video before, Cayson wasn't fond of napping in the hotel. It was a small room and he knew I was right there, so he was a bit sleep deprived. Here he is at Outback Steakhouse
and outside Cracker Barrel

We also got to meet our dear friends Cody, Holly, & Luke for dinner one night. It was great to finally meet little Luke.

We got to stop in Carnegie on our way home to visit Nana at work. She spoiled Cayson with Cheerios - she knows the way to his heart.

Dusty gets to come home this afternoon!!!! Yea!!! I know he is ready to be home... living in a mediocre hotel is not his idea of fun.

First Ice Cream Cone

Cayson got his first taste of an ice cream cone Sunday evening. We went to Braums to get milk and walked out with ice cream. On the drive home, we looked at Cayson in the back seat and his lip was quivering and he was just crying away. He was sooo upset that we were eating in the front seat without him. It just broke my heart. So, I caved and let him have some of Daddy's ice cream. He LOVED it.

Gangsta Style

Apparently boxes are all the rage in toddler toys... Cayson played for nearly an hour on this box.

What a weekend!!!

We had a whirlwind weekend!!!! We headed to C-town Saturday morning for Dusty's sister, Lisa's, baby shower. I got to drool over all the super adorable baby girl things. It made me think we need a baby girl, oh, like, tomorrow so I can dress her in adorable pink fluffy things. Dusty shot that idea down very quickly. So, no more babies in our near future, FYI.
The cake made by my talented mother-in-law

Here is the talented mother-in-law

Lisa had a little helper

Cayson sitting big with Daddy and Aunt Dee As hard as it was on me, I bought Lisa a NY Yankees outfit. It nearly killed me though...
I think baby girl would prefer an Atlanta Braves outfit!

Dusty hiding out in the kitchen eating his goodies

Cayson begging for cake from Lois

Cayson and Johnathon

Cayson loved the rocking dinosaur... at least, I think that is what it is. (Video to come on this)
We came home so both of my boys could take their naps and then we went over to some friends' house for a delicious dinner. Nathan and Kyla have a 2 year old daughter, Hudson, who is the cutest little thing! She and Cayson had a ball playing together. They have a split-level house so Cayson loved climbing up and down the steps. We only had two little falls, so that was good.

Meet the adorable Miss Hudson

Play time

Cayson loved the stairs....

...and sitting on Hudson...

...and hugging a.k.a. attacking Hudson and Huson runs away crying

Sunday we had church and then we went to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins who are visiting from Illinois. Then we spent the afternoon doing things around the house and packing up Dusty... well, not Dusty but Dusty's stuff. He's going to a school in Lawton all week for work. Boo-hoo! We already miss him and he hasn't left. We all had tears when he put Cayson down for bed tonight. You could tell it was very hard on him. He can't stand leaving his little boy. I think he convinced me to go down to Lawton for a couple of days and stay at the hotel with him. I think I was promised shopping and Cracker Barrel. That guy knows my heart. Who can turn down shopping and southern food?
