I have a problem and it's out of control!

My problem: camera happy mom who can not stop snapping pictures of her son while he plays in the water. There must be a 3 step program for this. I am out of control.

I love the colors of the outdoors and expressions on Cayson's face when he is playing outside. It makes me grin a big cheesy smile when I see him enjoying everything so much.
Oh, and here's a picture of the cute squirrel that was playing in our backyard. It appeared to be taunting Bunny 2.0.

Cayson figured out how to drink from the garden hose!

This video does prove that I am a major dork, by the way.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun!

Hi Everyone!!! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. We had a nice, slow, relaxing weekend. We didn't have much planned and it was so nice. Yesterday was Grandpa Kitchens' birthday - he turned 79 young. We had a birthday lunch on Sunday for he and my mom (her birthday is Wednesday). I thought I'd share a few pictures... (of course)

We played in Cayson's pool again today. He LOVES the pool. Today he filled it up himself and he thought the garden hose was the greatest thing ever. Especially when he figured out he could drink from the hose.

This is serious business

We made our first ever attempt at homemade ice cream today. We got an ice cream freezer as a wedding gift (5 years ago!) and have always been slightly intimidated my the whole process... especially when our parents are so great at making ice cream. I think our attempt turned out okay... though it took FOREVER for our ice cream freezer to make it. I did learn a few things so next time should be better.

Hope you all have a great week!!!

Splish-Splash, a Day in the Sun!

Here are a few pictures from our time in the "pool." I told Dusty this wasn't exactly what I envisioned when I talked about spending our summer enjoying the pool. Hopefully, we'll have our real pool up within a week or two.

Waving at Momma (who is reclining in her comfy lounge chair)
Drinking the pool water
Chilling with Daddy and drying off.

Cayson is SO big!

This is a trick we've been working on for awhile off and on. I hadn't worked with Cayson on it for some time and today I asked, "How big is Cayson?" and he did the motions! Hurray!

My excercise partner...

Thought I'd share a few videos of my little excercise buddy. He is really good at doing squats though he is easily distracted!!!

Sorry the second video is the wrong way.... I can't figure out how to fix it though I've done it before!

It's Summertime!

We got Cayson a wading pool yesterday in Yukon. Thanks to Papa and Nana for bringing it back in their pick-up. The Millers also gave us the Korbyn & Kaci's slide to use so Papa and Nana brought that too. Cayson got to play with his new toys today!

Here's our cool dude...

He immediately checked out the pool when he saw it.

Have to check it out using his oral sense.

Cayson wasn't too happy with me... the water was cold.
And unfortunately, I had to get in with him so he'd "play." After splashing in the pool, Cayson had to play on the slide. Translation: he had to attempt to crawl up the wrong way. He's a very determined boy.
Do you see the determination? He is determined in everything he does, by the way. I have my hands full for sure!
The pool got Cayson's attention again...
We had fun staying cool today in our nearly 100 degree weather! Hope everyone has a great week!

Belated Mother's Day Fun

We celebrated a belated Mother's Day yesterday with Dusty's family. Our nephew, Jayce, broke his arm last weekend so the celebration was postponed because he had surgery on Mother's Day. Poor kid! He can't do anything with his right arm.

We went to Super Target (I told Dusty I wanted to go there for Mother's Day) first. We also ran by Toys R Us to get Cayson a sprinkler with a gift card and then we headed to Yukon to the Greens'. They just moved into an awesome house! It's so big and has so many great features. Cayson enjoyed the wide open spaces to run, the piano, and especially the trampoline!
Here's Jayce with Uncle Stephen
Cayson loved the piano... and dancing. He'd play a few notes and then "dance." He figured out how to "dance" this past week and it's hilarious because it's more of an up and down motion.

Dusty & his dad - can you see the resemblance?
Some of the group eating all the DELICIOUS food!

Trampoline time!

Cayson jumped alone and he also jumped with Maggie. He LOVED it! At one point he rolled like a log all the way across the trampoline and he thought it was so great. He was not happy when I took his turn was over.

An action shot of Maggie

This pic cracks me up... this is how Cayson stands up... he does a sort of bridge thingHere's Nana opening her Mother's Day gifts. Thanks Greens for having us over! We had a blast and Cayson wants to visit his cousins again soon!
