My 5th Mother's Day

I must say that this Mother's Day was amazing - even if I was busy all day long cleaning up messes and disasters - doing what I love! We started the day off with church, of course and then enjoyed a laid back lunch at home.

This is Taryn's "cheese" face. Yay... not. And for some reason, Dusty took it off center. Hmmm?

Dusty completely surprised me with this hand stamped necklace by Charms of Faith. It says "My heart belongs to a police officer" and it has his badge number on the heart, a blue jewel and a handcuff charm. I love it and haven't taken it off since Sunday!

The kids also got me an underwater camera for the summer. Yay! I was really spoiled seeing as I ordered my own present a month ago....

Dusty worked overnight Saturday and had to be back to work at 2 pm Sunday so he was away most of the day. :( I did manage to fit in a little sunning during naptime and then we delivered some hydrangeas to Grandma and walked to the police department to visit our fav officer.

All in all, it was an awesome day! I am grateful to have so many wonderful mothers in my life! My mom has been an amazing example of how to live as a godly wife and mother. I am thankful to have a fantastic mother-in-law and superb grandmothers. I'm also extremely grateful to have so many dear friends who are exceptional mothers.

It's beginning to look like Christmas in the Jarnagin household!

We spent yesterday evening decorating our Christmas tree! We've been walking around 7 totes and boxes that were stacked in our living room... I've slowly been decorating. I'm really tired of my decorations so I'm sorting through to get rid of some so I can buy new. :) It's been a slow process... it's especially harder with a 1 1/2 year old to "help." He has been very good about not taking ornaments off the tree though. He found my two mini snow globes and carries them around everywhere. He also is very attached to my Hallmark Mickey Mouse ornament (imagine that!).

Hanging ornaments

Yeah, we couldn't get a good pic of Mom & Cayson

Star time

Cayson put his snow globes, Mickey Mouse ornament (along with the box) under the tree and layed there staring at it all. So funny.

No pics of the finished tree because it's not quite "finished." I haven't found a garland that I like (I've been looking for two years!).

Dusty got our outdoor Christmas lights up today! I'll try to post those pics soon too!

Christmas is getting close!!!!!!!!!

I am soooo excited! I just got my tickets to the Radio City Rockettes!!! They are going to be in OKC right after Christmas (kind of stinks it's after Christmas). We are going the day after Christmas... I've always wanted to go to NYC to see them! I can't wait! It's something to look forward to after Christmas... so the high isn't over for me after Christmas. : ) Now, I think I might just start uploading my Christmas music to my iPhone.....

Not a happy monkey...

Cayson's Halloween costume came in today so I had to try it on him. I think it is obvious that he was less than thrilled. He hated it! So, I am sending it back tomorrow. No monkey around here this year.

Cousins are the best!

I thought I'd share a few more pictures from Easter with you. They are of Cayson's wonderful cousins... I thought I had a photo overload yesterday, so I saved some to post today.

Easter weekend fun & not-so-fun

I write this blog with a few tears in my eyes because Easter is Cayson's last first holiday. Does that make sense... no more 1st St. Patrick's Day or 1st 4th of July. Okay... no more tears. On to the good stuff.

Cayson decided to "share" his illness with Mommy. Thanks! I was terribly ill yesterday with a fever, sore throat, head-ache, etc on Saturday. I'm still sick, but am a bit better today. Thank goodness! He also shared the illness with Grandma.... poor Grandma is very sick right now. Cayson isn't 100% yet from his illness and on top of it, he has several teeth trying to come in so that has been bothering him.

We had a sad event in our household over the weekend. My sister came over to take some Easter pictures of Cayson with his bunny. When I reached in the cage to get bunny, I noticed it didn't hop around like usual. Poor bunny had a puncture wound in it's side. We think a cat got it through the cage. We went ahead and took a few pictures though I was near tears. That evening after work, Dusty built a stand for the cage to get it up away from the cats and he cleaned up the bunny's wound. Saturday morning, when he went to check on it, it had passed away. I was so sad! The poor, poor bunny. Dusty, being the sweet husband he is, went and bought us another bunny. This one is black and a little bigger than the first. I am currently calling the new bunny Bunny 2.0 until we decide on a name.

Since I felt better today, we made it to early service at church. Cayson did his best ever at nursery today. Barely a tear was shed! When we went to pick him up, he was playing away. The poor nursery workers... there were two of them and they were each holding two crying babies and then there were four others playing! They had their hands full. We are grateful to these wonderful people who are willing to watch our babies so we can attend services.
The new bunny is in this picture... but it blends right into Dusty's suit!

After church, we got our stuff together and headed to Carnegie. Boy was Cayson showered with attention from his adoring cousins. It was so cute. At one point, he was standing in awe as his 5 cousins surrounded him trying to entertain him and love on him. It was the cutest thing! He has the sweetest cousins.
My niece, Korbyn, wearing bunny ears.Cayson had a successful first Easter egg hunt! He got quite the haul. By the end of the hunt, he was figuring it out. I'd pick up the egg and hand it to him and he would put it in his bucket.

All done!!!

Easter Wishes

My little Valentine...

Rebecca came over Sunday afternoon to take some Valentine pictures of Cayson. He was being such a grump so she had her work cut out for her. She was able to get some good ones though! I thought I'd share a few of the pictures to wet your appetite.... I'm keeping some of them under wraps... you will see when you get your Valentine from Cayson! There are a few posted on RM Photography if you want to check those out....
Oh, and his shirt says Single and Lovin' It! :)

Goodbye Christmas, Hello 2008

Today we put up our Christmas decorations. Boo! Our house looks so empty now! I guess there is now room for all of Cayson's toys. Cayson was very interested in all the totes and decorations... he wanted to help! Here's our helpful boy...As we say goodbye to 2007, we have contemplated all the amazing things God has done in our lives this past year. On the very top of our list is our wonderful son, Cayson. We are thankful to God for working out the timing in his arrival and giving me an easy labor and delivery and of course, a healthy little boy! We are also grateful that we were able to take a short vacation to Branson. It was such a fun experience! We have enjoyed every minute spent with Cayson and are looking forward to wonderful things in 2008! We hope everyone has a blessed 2008!
