Anthro Inspired Necklace

I found this beauty of a necklace on Anthro’s website and thought it would be fairly simple to imitate for a lower price tag! I also spotted some similar ones at J.Crew a few weeks back!

anthro necklace

I sewed a long tube of fabric and then turned it right side…. that was the hardest part! Getting it turned the right side. Beads were slid into the tube and knots tied between the beads. I finished off the ties by tucking the fabric in and sewing them closed. I added one flower that I hand stitched on.

It’s definitely not identical to the Anthro one but I think it turned out cute!

I totally forgot to take a pic of it on… it’s cuter on! But, I gave it to my sister for her birthday so hopefully, she will get a picture wearing it.

Our Silly Boy

Just a few pictures of silly Cayson…

Somehow, he makes the biggest mess on his face when eating cookies. I think he might be the Cookie Monster!

This is post-nap hair… I don’t know how in the world he wakes up with this crazy hair!

Helmet Obsession

Cayson has a fascination with helmets… he’s been creating his own helmets.

A few days ago, he was wearing Daddy’s hat backwards as his football helmet.  IMG_6708

This is the craziest. He pretends this basket is a helmet and puts the handle over his head and runs around like this playing football. Really. I couldn’t make this stuff up.

 IMG_6711

Here’s the alternative style for the basket. He told me that he had his “suitcase, helmet and football” this morning and was ready to go to the hotel with Grandma & Grandaddy. He stayed in a hotel with them when I was having Taryn.

Drummer Boy

I bought Cayson a drum with percussion instruments the other day at T@rget. We gave it to him the other morning and he was beyond thrilled. He played it ALL.DAY.LONG! As in, marching around our house beating his drum with his yuppie daddy following playing percussion. Seriously, the funniest thing ever. He also corralled Grandma & Uncle Greg into being in his marching band. Miss T slept through all the racket.

IMG_6630 IMG_6632 IMG_6633 IMG_6635

He kept telling us he was practicing for football games. Apparently, he’s planning on joining the SWOSU marching band this fall. Watch out!

P.S. I do have some great video clips of he & Daddy marching… hopefully, I can get those posted soon!

Cayson-isms

I know I’ve posted most of these on Facebook but I really wanted to record them here as well. Just a few of the funnies that come out of Cayson’s mouth…

The other day, Cayson has a "problem" picking up his cars... I didn't know the word "problem" was even in his vocabulary.

Today, while we were out running errands, Cayson asked if I was going to put clothes on. I told him I had clothes on and he replied, “No, those pajamas.” Apparently, I can’t go out in public wearing my sweatpants!

Cayson “called” Dusty today on his play phone to tell Dusty he had a “problem” with the Christmas tree. Dusty asked what his problem was and he told him, “The lights are off.” Oh, if all our problems could be solved so easily!

The other day, Dusty told Cayson that he was funny. Cayson said, “No, I amazing!” Yes, he takes after his father!

This one is terrible… Dusty & Cayson were playing in the other room and I was doing something in the living room. Out of the blue, Cayson blurted out, “That’s not a cow, that’s Mommy!” Oh, I should be offended but it’s pretty stinkin’ funny.

He also was kind enough to tell me that I have big toes… I didn’t remind him that he has his daddy’s crooked toes.

Cayson’s been singing “Do you know the muffin man?” except it sounds like he’s singing, “Do you know the MARTIAN man?” We honestly don’t know where he learned the song in the first place.

Blackmail video

Just so you know - his daddy took this video. I'm innocent. I probably won't leave this video up long in case some weirdos are looking at my blog.

Career Dilemma

Cayson can’t decided between two careers at this point in his life… Firefighter or Police Officer? As you can see, he’s torn between the two! IMG_5203 IMG_5204 IMG_5208

You know you’re tired when…

…you dress your child and he plays for 5 minutes before you realize something’s not quite right.IMG_5173 IMG_5174 This picture sums up my week. photo Cayson after the 1st day of VBS – he took 3+ hour naps all weeklong!

A week of Vacation Bible School, 2 trips to OKC – one for dinner and a baseball game with friends, the other for Rylan’s open heart surgery, Saturday garage saling, plus swim days makes for a weary momma. Hopefully, I will recover soon…. especially since Dusty is going to be gone this week for his clinicals at Oklahoma County.

Boys & Their Toys

I caught my boys hiding from me in the "Boys Only" tent.... along with every.single.stuffed.animal.in.our.house. Oh, and a Mickey bean bag chair. How it all fit, I do not understand.
Lovely face, dear. Or should I just say, "Oh, dear."

I had a hard time getting these pictures, thus why Cayson is MIA in them! I was holding my camera down in the hole in the top.

Possibly the funniest video ever....

Watch it through the very end....

Am I terrible mommy for thinking this is funny? Cayson was quite okay... in fact, he kept reenacting it for me since I thought it was funny.

Bedtime

Apparently Cayson didn't drift right to sleep when I layed him down last night. I went to check on him before I went to bed and found that he had piled everything on his pillow at the head of his crib.

He still thinks he's too cool for school!

Big Boy - Baby Toy

A friend who was borrowing our walker brought it back on Sunday. Cayson thinks it's the greatest thing! It's like a new toy to him. I told Dusty that the reason there are so many injuries is because parents let their toddlers play with them after they've outgrown them. Rest assured we are putting this in the attic and won't let Cayson get hurt!

Cayson's New DO

Compliments of Daddy

Obviously, Cayson still is in dire need of a haircut - hopefully, this week!

Piles, piles, piles everywhere!

Here are a few pictures from last week - as you know, Cayson is into piling things. He wanted to pile everything on Dusty and then crawl on top. Then he wanted Dusty to pile everything on top of him....

...then he wanted Dusty to sit on top of him... such a silly kid!
After his nap, I found that he had piled everything in his crib so he could prop himself on it.

Someone needs a haircut...

Everything looks fine.... Oh, yea, he has some major long hair going on.

Check out the Mohawk

Cayson was scheduled it get his hair cut on Wednesday - until he got sick! I will be calling ASAP Tuesday morning to try to get him in! It's driving me nuts!

Cayson the Dictator

Cayson has Dusty wrapped around his finger, for sure. I'm always amused to walk in and see what Cayson has Dusty doing. Here Cayson has him sitting on his rocking giraffe holding all the Mickey Mouse stuff - including the blanket! (This is from Wednesday)

Dusty got out this tent for Cayson to play with and of course, Cayson insisted Daddy play in it with him. At one point, all three of us were huddled in this thing!

Cayson loves his life size playmate!!!!
