Egg Hunters!

We took the kids for a little day-after-Easter egg hunt at my grandparents' assisted living residence. They have a perfect courtyard for it! The kids had a blast and my grandparents loved it. Grandma came outside to watch while Grandpa sat inside laughing at the kids. It was so much fun!

A Very Merry Christmas Eve

One of the highlights of our Christmas is the annual Christmas Eve party at my great aunt & uncle’s house. They have the house that is ideal for entertaining – 3 levels of entertaining space. The kitchen/dining room is on the 3rd floor and overlooks the the large open living room making it perfect for large gatherings. It’s so fun to see family, nosh on delicious food and play dirty santa!

Miss T with her cousin, Talon. They are 15 days apart and both so cute!

A few of the kids… it’s hard to get pictures of all the kiddos – they are too busy playing and running amuck.

A few pictures from the festivities:

Every year, we attempt a picture of these four ornery boys. They were all born within a year and by some strange chance, they happen to be sitting in birth order: Cayson, the youngest, Brayden, Deegan, and Ajay (the oldest).

After the shindig, Dusty & I got the kiddos to bed and went to work getting ready for Christmas morning! We brought in the gifts, set up the photo scavenger hunt (to find the kids’ new swing set), stuffed stockings and got the bubble bread ready for breakfast.

Afterwards, we rewarded ourselves and went ahead and opened our stockings to each other. It was nice to do it without the fuss of Christmas morning. We may be too old for stockings but it’s so much fun to fill them with all kinds of goodies!

Hope everyone had a joyous Christmas!

Happy Easter!

I’m grateful we were able to celebrate Christ’s resurrection despite my broken foot and Dusty’s absence. My sweet family pitched in so we were still able to go to Easter service and enjoy family dinner at my Aunt Tammy’s. Cayson got to hunt Easter eggs with cousin, Brayden, and the boys had a blast! We had planned on going to Dusty’s family Easter but obviously changed our plans. We’re bummed we didn’t get to see everyone but are thankful that we still got to enjoy Easter!

My grandparents enjoyed loving on Miss Taryn! Don’t you love Grandpa’s face even though you can’t fully see it? He was smiling so big at his great-granddaughter!

As you can see, Taryn shared the same enthusiasm as her brother. :)

For some unknown reason, Cayson felt the need to show everyone his belly at the hunt’s conclusion.

Happily Ever After

We were privileged to see my cousin, Derek, marry his sweetheart, Kally, on Saturday. They had a beautiful ceremony and a fun reception! We had a great time and are praying for the newlyweds as the begin life as one!

I took a ton of pictures and posted them all on Flickr if you’re interested.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun!

Hi Everyone!!! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. We had a nice, slow, relaxing weekend. We didn't have much planned and it was so nice. Yesterday was Grandpa Kitchens' birthday - he turned 79 young. We had a birthday lunch on Sunday for he and my mom (her birthday is Wednesday). I thought I'd share a few pictures... (of course)

We played in Cayson's pool again today. He LOVES the pool. Today he filled it up himself and he thought the garden hose was the greatest thing ever. Especially when he figured out he could drink from the hose.

This is serious business

We made our first ever attempt at homemade ice cream today. We got an ice cream freezer as a wedding gift (5 years ago!) and have always been slightly intimidated my the whole process... especially when our parents are so great at making ice cream. I think our attempt turned out okay... though it took FOREVER for our ice cream freezer to make it. I did learn a few things so next time should be better.

Hope you all have a great week!!!
