Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

If you can't guess by the title - we have our tree up and decorated!!! Yay! So far, Cayson really isn't that interested in it. I think he will be more interested in the presents under the tree. He loves to get anything paper... such as newspapers, magazines, books, bags, etc. So, your present may have some free drool compliments of Cayson!

Cayson also turned 7 months old on Wednesday. As I say every month - he is growing like crazy and time is just flying by. I can't believe we are only 5 months away from 1 year old!

Yesterday was a jam packed day of Christmas shopping in OKC. I really wore out my boys! We left early (for us) and got back late evening. We got quite a bit accomplished. We got Cayson his big boy car seat. The box for it was HUGE! It's a good thing we have an SUV to carry it. Our vehicle was soooo full by the time we came home. There was barely room for us! Cayson was a good shopper and sport. One funny note, I was in Victoria's Secret with him and these really cute junior high girls were just oohing and ahhing over him. He was just flirting right back. Then when we were in line to check out, this little girl behind me kept looking at him and getting real close. She then told her mother, "I want a baby brother." I started laughing and her mom then told her that she already had a baby brother. She said, "But he's not like that!" It was so cute.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wrestling boys...

Cayson loves to "wrestle" his daddy. He crawls all over him and grabs him. It's so cute! I got a few pictures this weekend of Cayson and Daddy time.

Cayson couldn't quite decide which was the better toy - the Kick n' Drive toy or Daddy

It SNOWED!!!!!

We got an unexpected surprise yesterday afternoon- SNOW! Yeah! For all those who may not know, I LOVE SNOW! I was very excited. I couldn't wait to take Cayson out to experience his first snow.... of course he was napping.... and he took the longest nap ever while I paced the floor waiting for him to wake up. After 2 hours of sleeping, I finally woke him up. Thankfully, it was still snowing. I don't really think he noticed the snow - he just knew it was cold.

As you can see, he was thrilled with the snow - ha!

Thanksgiving fun!

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I asked Dusty what he was most thankful for this year and his answer matched mine - Cayson! We are also grateful for our salvation through Christ Jesus.

We spent Thanksgiving with Dusty's family in Fort Cobb & Carnegie. Dusty worked the night before and got off work at 6 am Thanksgiving morning. So I got to make all my Thanksgiving stuff and try to entertain Cayson! Fun Fun! It worked out fine and we actually made it to lunch on time.

While at the lake, we saw a bunch of deer! We were actually about 4 feet away from one. They were running across the campgrounds and were running/walking in front of our car as we drove around. It was crazy! Here are a few pictures of the deer.

Can you find the deer in this picture?

Here are a few pictures from PaPa and Nana's house.

So, I am kicking myself because I didn't take any pictures at the actual Thanksgiving meal with all the family - kick-kick! Everyone was there so just imagine 4 cute little girls doting over their baby cousin, Cayson, and one handsome 8 yr. old boy loving and talking to his little buddy, Cayson.

Look at me, Mom!

As you can see, Cayson has figured out how to get into his toy basket! He is pulling up on it and nearly standing. I love his expression in the second picture... he was so proud!

I am going to ask everyone to never tell Cayson I posted these pictures on the Internet. : ) Shhh.... they are so cute, so I couldn't resist.

We have a tooth!

Cayson has his first tooth!!!! And he is miserable!

Yesterday at church, we got paged...ooooh.... that means your kid is being BAD. I walk towards the nursery and can hear my son screaming all the way down the hall. Yep, it was him! A lady from one of the other nurseries had even come over to try to calm Cayson down but he wasn't having it. So, I got him calmed down and rocked him to sleep. The nursery workers were like, oh, he's probably teething. I just agreed but was thinking, No, he's just being a brat. Well, I guess I was wrong. He was teething. He's been fussy this morning so I finally felt, and sure enough, one of his bottom teeth has popped through!

Happy 100th Birthday Oklahoma!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Oklahoma!!! We had fun celebrating you!

I say the celebration started Friday morning. Cayson & I watched the reenactment on TV that took place in Guthrie. I thought I'd take a couple of pictures of him while he was eating/watching the event. I took these when they fired the shots saying Oklahoma was a state. He was really cheesing for the camera.

Rebecca & I had such a great time at the Centennial Spectacular concert. It wasn't quite what we expected, but it was am amazing experience. We got to see so many huge Oklahomans (not huge as in fat, but huge as in amazing). The most touching part was when a 101 year old Oklahoman sang the original state song. He did such a great job - I don't think there was a dry eye in the whole entire Ford Center. My only complaint was that Garth didn't sing! What in the world? He's one of the biggest stars from Oklahoma!

Here I am with our "props" for the concert
We were supposed to hold up these big sheets of papers during a certain song and it was supposed to spell something around the whole stadium. The only flaw was that nobody did it!!! Probably about 100 people did it out of the thousands there.
Today Cayson, Mom, & I went to the Weatherford celebration. We watched the entertainment and the fireworks. Cayson was amazed by the fireworks at first and then he screamed bloody murder. I think they were a little too loud for his poor ears.

Here's Mom & Cayson moving to the music

Brayden & Courtney
Well, that sums up our celebrations this weekend! Hope everyone had a fun filled weekend!

Early birthday celebration

My parents had the family over to celebrate my birthday on Thursday night (my b-day is on Tues). Mom made her wonderfully delish chicken & dumplings! My favorite!!! And she made her famous lemon ice box pie that is loved by everyone. It was soooooo wonderful. I was very fat & happy! Thanks Dad & Mom!!!!

I gave Cayson the opportunity to help me open presents. He was interested in the paper, but not much else. I got all kinds of wonderful gifts and we had a great time together.

Statehood Day & Girl's Night Out!

Tomorrow night is the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular concert featuring Garth Brooks (Yeah!), Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood and more! I was able to get two tickets after spending nearly 2 hours trying to get them the morning they went on sale - we were on the road to Branson, so I was able to redial 50 million times till I got through.
Anyway, my sister and I are going to the concert tomorrow night. Dusty is cleaning chimneys out of town tomorrow so Mom is keeping Cayson until Dusty gets home. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Bad Parenting 101

Note to self: Do NOT let Cayson sit unassisted in laundry basket. The photo op is not worth the risk. Outcome could be a very hurt and angry baby.
A baby was injured in this learning experience, but has since recovered.
