Easter weekend fun & not-so-fun

I write this blog with a few tears in my eyes because Easter is Cayson's last first holiday. Does that make sense... no more 1st St. Patrick's Day or 1st 4th of July. Okay... no more tears. On to the good stuff.

Cayson decided to "share" his illness with Mommy. Thanks! I was terribly ill yesterday with a fever, sore throat, head-ache, etc on Saturday. I'm still sick, but am a bit better today. Thank goodness! He also shared the illness with Grandma.... poor Grandma is very sick right now. Cayson isn't 100% yet from his illness and on top of it, he has several teeth trying to come in so that has been bothering him.

We had a sad event in our household over the weekend. My sister came over to take some Easter pictures of Cayson with his bunny. When I reached in the cage to get bunny, I noticed it didn't hop around like usual. Poor bunny had a puncture wound in it's side. We think a cat got it through the cage. We went ahead and took a few pictures though I was near tears. That evening after work, Dusty built a stand for the cage to get it up away from the cats and he cleaned up the bunny's wound. Saturday morning, when he went to check on it, it had passed away. I was so sad! The poor, poor bunny. Dusty, being the sweet husband he is, went and bought us another bunny. This one is black and a little bigger than the first. I am currently calling the new bunny Bunny 2.0 until we decide on a name.

Since I felt better today, we made it to early service at church. Cayson did his best ever at nursery today. Barely a tear was shed! When we went to pick him up, he was playing away. The poor nursery workers... there were two of them and they were each holding two crying babies and then there were four others playing! They had their hands full. We are grateful to these wonderful people who are willing to watch our babies so we can attend services.
The new bunny is in this picture... but it blends right into Dusty's suit!

After church, we got our stuff together and headed to Carnegie. Boy was Cayson showered with attention from his adoring cousins. It was so cute. At one point, he was standing in awe as his 5 cousins surrounded him trying to entertain him and love on him. It was the cutest thing! He has the sweetest cousins.
My niece, Korbyn, wearing bunny ears.Cayson had a successful first Easter egg hunt! He got quite the haul. By the end of the hunt, he was figuring it out. I'd pick up the egg and hand it to him and he would put it in his bucket.

All done!!!
