We went to the local car show welcome party on Friday night with the Smiths. A few blocks of Main Street is blocked off and the cars park downtown. Later in the evening, they have a cruise and they cruise Main Street. It's a great local event and a good time to socialize. I did learn that it's harder to socialize when you are chasing a 13 month old up and down the street - literally. I made the mistake of letting Cayson get out of the stroller and all he wanted to do was run up and down the street. Rylan was a great help and helped entertain and corral Cayson. I got some cute pictures of them. I love how Rylan is making sure Cayson is looking at the camera in this one... As you can see, Rylan had a shadow... name Cayson.
One of our friend's had her dog and Cayson immediately tried to pick it up or hug it. Not quite sure which, but figured neither option was a good idea.
Cayson loves Lindey... all evening, if he was being held, he wanted her.
Here's Cayson giving a round of fives to all the police officers.Saturday, Dusty's parents stopped by for a visit. Cayson decided to show off while they were over... as in, he figured out new things. First, he decided to climb up in his rocking chair (which he hasn't touched or tried to play with ever). He figured out how to climb up in it and turn around and sit. He was so funny climbing up and down, up and down, up and down. Whew, wears me out! Then he decided he needed to climb up on the love seat. He was very determined and kept trying and trying and trying until he was successful.
Here's the progression (Holly, these pictures are just for you;)....
We gave Papa his Father's Day gifts since we wouldn't get to see him on Father's Day. Cayson got plenty of loving and attention!
Saturday evening, we had dinner at my parents' to celebrate Father's Day. Mom made a huge spread of delicious food... hamburgers, cantaloupe, chips, baked beans, hamburgers, grilled corn (Dad grilled the burgers and corn), lemon ice box pie, coconut cream pie. Yum, yum. Oh, and Cayson figured out how to climb up in their rocking chair too. I turned around and he was standing up in it. We have a climber now.
Today, we gave Dusty his Father's Day gifts after he and Cayson woke up (Cayson was napping and Dusty sleeping since he worked all night). We went and ate at Quizno's and then came home. Dusty & Dad worked on our pool, but ran into several issues. One, we didn't have enough sand, two, we need dirt work done under the sand which means we are in square one, three, we have to have a new liner because the one we have has shrunk. Blah! I want my pool. I feel bad because Dusty has spent about 5+ hours out in the summer heat working on it and now we have to start over. I did order a liner which should be here on Tuesday.
Here my dad is helping work on the pool. How sweet is it for him to spend Father's Day doing this in the sweltering heat?
Is anyone there??? I realize this post is way too long and I should have split it up, but I just didn't feel like it. Oh, well.
Sarah, You are too funny!!!
ReplyDeleteBrayden is a BIG climber too!!! We had to move our computer desk into the back room bc I would turn around and Brayden had climbed up onto the couch and up onto the desk. That scared me half to death the first time I saw it. He tries to climb over the gates too. Let me tell you, you aren't the only one worn out lol.
