I bought tickets for a Redhawks baseball game for Dusty's Father's Day gift... the only game this month on his day off was last night's game so I gave him his gift early. He was supposed to be on call (which I didn't realize when I purchased the tickets) but he was able to get another sergeant to take call for him.
We left Cayson at my parents' and went to the city early in the afternoon to do a little running around... can you say Super Target!?!? A trip to the city isn't complete without some shopping at Super T! We had been running our errands and I realized Dusty was still turning the rear A/C on for Cayson! I reminded him that Cayson wasn't with us. Ha ha. When we got to Target, I grabbed the cart and was browsing and realized I was rocking the cart back and forward like I do for Cayson. Mommy-instinct, I guess. We were browsing in the clothing section and I looked over and noticed Dusty was quickly pushing the cart up and down the rows. He does this with Cayson while I am shopping. I once again reminded him that Cayson wasn't riding in the cart. Ha! How insane are we? Guess the parenting instinct isn't left behind with the child!
We headed to Bricktown to eat at Toby Keith's I Love this Bar restaurant. It was soooooo delicious. Let me say that again - it was soooooo delicious! We both got salads - they have great salads. I ordered the grilled chicken with a baked potato and okra and Dusty ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and okra. We ordered different entrees so we could share. We were so stuffed afterwards! We had some time to kill so we walked around Bricktown to take in the sites. It's such a neat spot in OKC.
We had great seats at the game - right behind home plate in the club seating. Last time we went, they were out of chocolate Dippin' Dots by the time I went to get them. This time, I was smart and ordered them early from our waitress. They were so yummy but I was even more stuffed! Dusty was disappointed he didn't catch a foul ball this time. He seems to think he should catch one every time we go to a game. You can read about last year's game here. Oh, and we lasted 5 innings this time - 2 more than last year!
