Clinton Home & Garden Expo

Okay, it is hailing like crazy right now so I am blogging to try to keep my mind off it. It is driving me nuts for some reason. It actually looks like there is an inch or more of snow on the ground, but it's hail!

Cayson and I ran to the Clinton Home & Garden Expo on Saturday to take a few things to my dad. He had a booth set up at the expo. I took some pictures of Cayson on a few of the different mowers for future ads. Dad has decided he wants his favorite grandson (only grandson) to star in all of his print ads. I thought I'd share a few of them.
He thought it was funny to stand up - I did not.
He loved standing on this Toro and bang on the back of it.

More Decisions of an 11 Month Old...

He just couldn't keep his pacifier out of his mouth the other day... lately he hasn't been using his pacifier very much. But this was an exception... he would take out the pacifier to eat some puffs, put it back in as he swallowed, take it out to drink, put it back in, etc. I was cracking up at him!

Another gorgeous weather post

I took these pictures earlier in the week. We were trying to get a few pictures of Cayson on the Dixon mower for a few ads for the hardware store. Just thought I'd share a few...

11 Months Old!

It gets harder and harder to get Cayson to sit still and cooperate for pictures. I tried all day long to get some good pictures and this is what I finally ended up getting right before bed tonight. What a stinker!
Thought I'd share a few of Cayson's "tricks"..... or should I say the things he does to turn my hair gray!
  1. Climbing out of his highchair onto the dining room table. The other day, I found him crawling across it after I went into the kitchen to grab something. Today, I kept checking on him every minute while he finished his breakfast. I went in to check on him and he was sitting on his knees in the middle of the table eating a napkin!
  2. He decided to take a "bath" in the cat's water bowl. He really is a water baby!
  3. Pulling trash out of trash cans. Oh the joys of cleaning that up!

Cayson is also doing some cuter things like waving (only when he feels like doing it - definitely not on command) and when we ask "How big is Cayson?" he will raise his hands above his head as we say "SO big!" We love watching him figure things out. It's amazing to see how his young mind processes things.

Gorgeous Weather

The weather was soooo perfect yesterday - mid 80's, sunny with a slight breeze. Cayson and I walked to the park to swing and then we walked to the college to visit Rebecca. Here are a few swing pics.
I just love these chubby little legs and feet!!!!
Had to take a picture of these sandals. I think they are so cute!

Officially Introducing Bunny 2.0

Here's Patches' reaction to Bunny 2.0. She really didn't care about Bunny 1.0, but she wasn't crazy about Bunny 2.0. Probably because this one is bigger.

Cousins are the best!

I thought I'd share a few more pictures from Easter with you. They are of Cayson's wonderful cousins... I thought I had a photo overload yesterday, so I saved some to post today.

Easter weekend fun & not-so-fun

I write this blog with a few tears in my eyes because Easter is Cayson's last first holiday. Does that make sense... no more 1st St. Patrick's Day or 1st 4th of July. Okay... no more tears. On to the good stuff.

Cayson decided to "share" his illness with Mommy. Thanks! I was terribly ill yesterday with a fever, sore throat, head-ache, etc on Saturday. I'm still sick, but am a bit better today. Thank goodness! He also shared the illness with Grandma.... poor Grandma is very sick right now. Cayson isn't 100% yet from his illness and on top of it, he has several teeth trying to come in so that has been bothering him.

We had a sad event in our household over the weekend. My sister came over to take some Easter pictures of Cayson with his bunny. When I reached in the cage to get bunny, I noticed it didn't hop around like usual. Poor bunny had a puncture wound in it's side. We think a cat got it through the cage. We went ahead and took a few pictures though I was near tears. That evening after work, Dusty built a stand for the cage to get it up away from the cats and he cleaned up the bunny's wound. Saturday morning, when he went to check on it, it had passed away. I was so sad! The poor, poor bunny. Dusty, being the sweet husband he is, went and bought us another bunny. This one is black and a little bigger than the first. I am currently calling the new bunny Bunny 2.0 until we decide on a name.

Since I felt better today, we made it to early service at church. Cayson did his best ever at nursery today. Barely a tear was shed! When we went to pick him up, he was playing away. The poor nursery workers... there were two of them and they were each holding two crying babies and then there were four others playing! They had their hands full. We are grateful to these wonderful people who are willing to watch our babies so we can attend services.
The new bunny is in this picture... but it blends right into Dusty's suit!

After church, we got our stuff together and headed to Carnegie. Boy was Cayson showered with attention from his adoring cousins. It was so cute. At one point, he was standing in awe as his 5 cousins surrounded him trying to entertain him and love on him. It was the cutest thing! He has the sweetest cousins.
My niece, Korbyn, wearing bunny ears.Cayson had a successful first Easter egg hunt! He got quite the haul. By the end of the hunt, he was figuring it out. I'd pick up the egg and hand it to him and he would put it in his bucket.

All done!!!

Easter Wishes

You know you're old when...

... when you are excited about a new screen door!!!! Dusty and I went to the city yesterday to get a screen door for our house and one for my parents' house. We got this one... except the hardware is brushed nickel. It has a retractable screen which is so cool. Anyway, thought I'd share my excitement with you!

Oh, and due to the fact that we had to go get the screen doors and haul them, we left Cayson with my mom. There just wasn't room for him and the screen doors in my car. Dusty and I did some quick shopping... as in run in here and there and pick up this and that. We also went out for our anniversary dinner too! Yum, yum! Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!!!

The decisions of a 10 month old...

Cayson's water sippy was still sitting on the table from the night before. I had given him a sippy of milk with his breakfast. I came back in the dining room to find this...
