Pool Part-ay

Our church rented the public pool last Sunday evening for a church-wide ice cream social and swim party. Cayson had a blast jumping into the pool over & over & over & over… that’s all he did the entire time.

Cayson was quite fascinated watching our pastor and his wife and others do dives & flips off the diving board and decided to imitate them by trying to jump in backwards. He kept asking to go off the diving board – I said no… Dusty said it was a good thing I was there because he would have let him! I think 2 years is a little young to go off the diving board no matter how brave you are!

Playing at the park before swimming!

Can you tell Cayson completely adores Rylan? In the second picture, he is trying to stand just like her.  IMG_5523 IMG_5524

Imitating everything that “Rye-Rye” does.

Time to swim!

Wistfully watching the diving board action – Earl (our pastor) about to go off. IMG_5534

Chaos in C-town

Last Saturday we headed down to Papa & Nana’s for Maggie’s swim  party. Our Maggie Girl turned 8! I didn’t take very many pictures of the happenings… just imagine 10 kids and 15 adults running around. Well, the adults more or less lounged around while the kids ran around.

Cayson pretty much had his own personal pool. IMG_5503

Maggie came over to “help” fill the pool up after an unfortunate dumping of the water. IMG_5505 IMG_5507

Dusty took this one and it’s so dark but I love it! Two of my sweet nieces – Kaci & Klaire! IMG_5510

Nana made another fabulous cake. The shells, fish, dolphins, etc are candies that she made. Don’t you love the “sand” on the top?

Insightful Commercial

I saw this commercial the other day and laughed so hard... I hear a lot of parents are feeling this way!

Little Leaguer

Are you tired of baseball videos? Our baseball fanatic started a pre-batting routine this week that includes adjusting his “batting gloves” and his “helmet.” It is so crazy that he picks this up from watching baseball on tv! Since this video, he's added another step to his routine - a couple of warm up swings. It's hilarious! Since this video, he's added another step to his routine - a couple of warm up swings. Obsession

 IMG_5469 IMG_5470

Cayson is currently obsessed with BASEBALL. Everything baseball. Baseball all.day.long. He says baseball like it’s two words… as in, “base.ball.” It’s really cute…. for the first 50 times of the day. He walks around wearing Dusty’s glove and his baseball hat. He swings his baseball bat turkey baster. He runs through the house sliding into imaginary bases and yelling “Safe!” while doing the safe hand motions. We practice catching, hitting and throwing all day long. He insists on watching “base.ball”  every night on t.v. IMG_5471

And the Thunder Rolls…

The Thunder hype team rolled into W-ford today with bells and whistles. My sister, Rebecca, Cayson and I went to check it out. Lucky for Cayson, his aunt has connections and he got the hook-up including pictures with a Thunder Girl. There was only one there due to Thunder Girl try-outs being today.

Cayson immediately cuddled up to Natalie. Everyone was cracking up and then he busted out the signature thumb up. He is his daddy’s boy!

Rebecca tried her hand at the basketball shoot and didn’t completely embarrass the family. IMG_5485 IMG_5486

Cayson was a bit intimidated by these guys. Can you tell?

Water, water, water

I am behind on my blogging – these pictures are nearly a week old! It’s been so hot, we haven’t taken Cayson out to swim in the heat of the day. We made it out for a morning swim last Saturday. He even sported his shades for a bit.

IMG_5445A thumb up for swimming!IMG_5449Ah, he got time-out before he could even get in the water. Don’t you love that forlorn look on his face?

 IMG_5450

Yeah, the forlorn look sure didn’t last.IMG_5456 IMG_5460
Hard to get a decent picture of our fish in the water…

A Couple Pool Videos

Jump for Joy

Have I mentioned that we have a jumper? A dare devil? Mr. Independent?

Cayson loves jumping in the pool. I love the look of pure glee on his face as he jumps with his every being. IMG_5431 IMG_5433 IMG_5434 IMG_5435 IMG_5436

I have a few fun videos I’ll hopefully get posted soon. I know I am behind on blogging… maybe I’ll get in the groove soon.

4th of July Weekend: Part 2

Sunday afternoon, we had a few friends over to swim and eat. Of course, the weather happened to be a little cooler than planned but we still had fun hanging out!

We decided to get out our very old bag of fireworks (I think we’ve had them since 2003! Eek!) Cayson & Rylan loved the smoke bombs. Dusty had to try out a pop bottle rocket contraband firecracker… it kind of backfired.IMG_5427

 IMG_5429

We had an unfortunate incident with the sparklers. Cayson did one sparkler with my help. After it burned out and I was putting it up, he started crying hard. We couldn’t figure out where he was hurt and I finally spotted a soot spot in his hair. Somehow he got burned on his head. :( Poor little guy. He has a little bald spot but is recovered from the injury, I think.
