Tuesday Fun

As I mentioned before, Rylan spent the day with us last Tuesday. It was a lot of fun! She & Cayson played, played, played! She was great at keeping him entertained and occupied – I actually got some housework done. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Cayson is imitating Rylan by riding his broom as a horse and wearing his fire helmet backward. He kept running around making horse noises while Rylan kept “disciplining” her horse. IMG_5311

Grocery Store Disaster

I thought I’d share a “little” incident that happened this week at the grocery store. I still feel as if there HAD to be a hidden camera somewhere filming my every disastrous move. Seriously.

Rylan was spending the day with us on Tuesday and we made our way to the grocery store for a few things. The grocery shopping was actually incident free and uneventful. Our stinkin’ grocery store only had one check-out lane open the entire time we were there and there was always a long line. I hate that! So, after waiting in line and checking out, I had to carry out my own groceries. No Big Deal. I carry Cayson on my hip and push the cart with Rylan walking beside us. Still, No Big Deal.

Out to the car we go. I park the shopping cart on the curb next to my car so I can load the kids in the car. While situating Cayson in his car seat, my cart flips over and dumps all my groceries onto the nasty, dirty asphalt. Can you say, “Ugh!” I upright my cart – getting my new white pants dirty by the dirty, nasty cart- and start picking up my groceries…. as in very bruised fruits and crumpled bread.

I get everything unloaded into the back of the car and then push the cart all the way up to the building where other carts are sitting. I rush back to get Cayson buckled in and WHAM! The cart had rolled all the way back and banged into the open car door. Great! A door ding! I told Rylan, “That’s an evil cart!”

I push it back, run back and jump into the car to back out before it can attack me again. As I back out of my spot, I hear a crushing noise. Just great! I ran over something that rolled under my car. So I back out and park- sticking out into traffic so I can go see if I can salvage anything. I drove right smack over the jar of strawberry jelly crushing the jar. Lucky for me, I missed my precious powdered covered donettes and the not so precious teriyaki sauce and shave gel. I gather my jelly covered items and load them before rushing home.

On top of all this, there was a couple sitting in the car directly next to me witnessing the entire fiasco. No joke. I’m sure I made their day. AND, one of the store managers came out and walked right by my mess without even looking at it. That ate me up.

When we were driving off, Rylan told me “We’re a bunch of silly girls and we’re goobers!” I had to agree. Then she asked if I was mad. I just laughed… and laughed and said, “No, this is life and these things happen.” Gives me something to blog about, I suppose.

Our Fish!

Part 3 of Our Weekend: Father’s Day!!!

I am so grateful to have a loving husband who is a great daddy to our little boy! I’m also blessed with wonderful dad, father-in-law and grandpas. How blessed am I?

Here are a few load of pictures from our Sunday. It started with Dusty opening his presents with a little help from Cayson.

After church and lunch, we headed out to the pool.

Cayson joined us after his nap. It was his first time to get in the big pool. He’s a bit independent and wants to swim alone. He just floated around the pool, kicking and splashing up a storm. He loved it! My fish baby!

The brave boy even wanted to swim with just his floaties. He did a great job!

Part 2 of Our Weekend: Carnegie Party-time!

We headed to Carnegie Saturday afternoon for Korbyn’s 6th birthday party – she had a swim party! It was a blast – lots of swimming, delicious food, family-time, lots of goodies, and cuddle time with Baby Klaire!

Klaire and Nana (isn’t the swimsuit the cutest thing?)

Nana made this awesome beach ball Rice Krispie treats. How cool are these?
IMG_5264
I think this is my all-time favorite cake that Nana has made! Isn’t it crazy? The beach towels and air mattresses are made out of fondant. The sand is brown sugar and the little Teddy Grahams are playing, lounging and swimming!

Kim made this gorgeous quilt for Korbyn. I’m still trying to figure out how she had the time? IMG_5276

Part 1 of Our Weekend: The Car Show

We had a picture-filled weekend so I’m breaking it up a little to spare you photo clogged posts. :)

We went to the Heartland Cruise Car Show Friday night cruise with the Smith’s. We walked around to see the parked cars before getting some ice cream and finding a spot to watch the cruise.

Dusty had to work at the car show on Saturday so Cayson and I went out to see him and look around. Cayson kept asking for the cars to drive around like they did on Friday night. He didn’t understand that they were parked so people could look at them!

Career Dilemma

Cayson can’t decided between two careers at this point in his life… Firefighter or Police Officer? As you can see, he’s torn between the two! IMG_5203 IMG_5204 IMG_5208

Klaire Elise

We made a trip to Yukon on Sunday to meet our new niece/cousin, Klaire Elise! She is such a doll! She cuddled and slept the whole time we were visiting. Cayson thought she was quite special. Dusty kept telling him to look at the camera but he couldn’t take his eyes off the sweet little girl! IMG_5196 IMG_5198

Sweet Kisses!IMG_5200 Cayson enjoyed playing with his cousins, Korbyn and Kaci. There was a lot of pink going on in this house! 3 girls! IMG_5201Dusty took this picture for future laughs. Cayson thought the helmet was great… he was oblivious to the fact that it was pink and said “Girls Rule.”

Friend Filled Week

We had a busy week full of friends! It was such a blessing to get to visit with good friends! Unfortunately, I don't have a single picture of my time spent with friends! I know it's very unusual for me!

Wednesday, my friend, Julee, came to visit with her cutie of a son, Cade. He's 4 months old and such a cutie. Cayson was enamored by Cade. He just oohed and aahed over him. As soon as Cayson woke from his nap, he ran into the living room to see if Cade was still here.

Thursday, I headed to Norman to visit my friend, Lindsey. We had some girl time visiting and eating. I also got to see her mom's GORGEOUS new home and Lindsey's BEAUTIFUL home not to mention two of the cutest twin boys! Lindsey has two year old twin boys who keep her VERY busy. She is a wonderful mommy! You can view pictures of our boys when they were little here.

We also have exciting news! We are Aunt & Uncle again! Klaire Elise was born Monday, June 8, weighing in at 8 lbs, 4 oz and 21" long. We are planning on heading to Yukon tomorrow to visit her so I'm positive I'll have photos of that!

On other good news, Dusty is finished with his clinicals!!!! Hip, hip, hooray! I am sooooo beyond excited! He finished up Friday afternoon. He goes back in August to take the final for the class.
I also thought I should mention that our little friend, Rylan, is doing wonderful. She came home on Monday and hasn't stopped going, going, going since. Her parents are having a hard time getting her to rest and take it easy! It's amazing to see God's hand in her surgery and recovery!

And because I can't have a post without pictures, here are the only pictures I took this week. Cayson is into hats at the moment- and he LOVES Grandaddy's hats!
